Pioneer Trek

Jared, Ryan and I went on a 4-day stake youth pioneer trek last week. We dressed as pioneers and pulled handcarts for 3 days. We averaged about 5 miles a day. The area we were in was very hilly so it was often difficult to pull up and down the hills.



We were organized into 10 families of 10-12 youth per family with an adult ma and pa couple. I was assigned as an uncle to Ryan's family. Here is a picture of Ryan and I with our family. Ryan is 2nd from the right in the back and I am at the right in front.

The trek went very well. We had a lot of fun reliving the experiences of our pioneer ancestors. It was an opportunity to become acquainted with other members of the stake and to strengthen testimonies.
