A week in review...

So last week, I had the opportunity to go with Chris to a concert up in Salt Lake City. We, along with two of Chris's friends, headed up and had an absolute blast. We got there in time to see (note: I'm fairly certain that only the cultured, teenage Birds will recognize these bands) the very end of Alien Ant Farm, then saw Lostprophets, Soul Asylum, Blue October, Hoobastank, Hawthorne Heights, and Yellowcard. My favorites were Yellowcard, Hoobastank, and Blue October, in that order. I'm pretty sure that Chris feels the same way. The reason I say this is because those are the bands I have the most pictures of. Anyways, there's apparently a five-picture limit on what I can put on this site, so I included my five favorites. I have about a dozen more that I wanted to put up, but that's okay.
I don't think I can add captions to them, so let me tell you what they each are: the first one should be of the band, Blue October. They had a really awesome show, visually and audibly. Their main singer was dressed in a suit and had dark makeup around his eyes, giving him a really monstrous look that was actually pretty intimidating. Their music rocked a lot. By the way, in one of the pictures, that guy IS rocking out with a violin. Pretty funky.
The 2nd picture is of this little girl that I saw sitting on someone's shoulders. Her hair was so outrageous that I had to take a picture of it. Needless to say, there was a lot of 'outrageously' dressed people there (Chris should know what I mean).
The fourth picture is a close shot of the singer from Hoobastank. I really like Hoobastank's music, so I took a bunch of shots of them, but we were so far away from the stage that not a whole lot of them turned out very well. I actually recognized the singer from music videos that I saw of them a year or two ago. They had a cool show, and ended up playing covers of "The Wall" by Pink Floyd, and a Bon Jovi song (Chris could tell you the name, I'm sure).
The last picture, unfortunately, doesn't represent what was actually going on at the concert. The band was Yellowcard, who's music I don't like a whole lot, but their show was by far the best. They closed out the concert, and we were lucky enough to be fairly close to the stage, so I got a number of good pictures, including one of their drummer during his drum solo. These guys rocked a lot, and the whole crowd was awesome, and there was a lot of crowd surfing going on. In fact, about ten feet away from us, the crowd accidentally dropped someone onto the concrete. Luckily, he managed to compose himself a bit before he fell, and didn't get too badly injured, but it looked rather nasty.
Also, the night before the concert, I went to a BYU Rugby game (two of the guys from my floor are on the team), and I managed to get some pictures of that. Unfortunately, due to picture restraints, I couldn't put them up. Needless to say, I don't understand Rugby at all.
